This company didn't start with a business plan. It started with a family, a loss, and a fierce determination to overcome.
When Andrea was twelve years old, her father lost his career. He fell into a hard season — the kind that can take a man out completely. Then one day, he saw an ad for an apartment complex needing their common areas cleaned. He left the house with her mom's brand new Christmas vacuum and came home that night announcing he was starting a commercial cleaning company.
Andrea grew up building that business with him. She and her brother dreamed of working alongside their father — growing something together as a family, building something that would last. That dream was still very much alive just after her 21st birthday, when her father was killed in a car accident on his way to work. Instantly their lives were changed, and ultimately the business her father had built was lost.
Andrea carried that with her for twenty years.
"The loss was devastating — but it didn't end the story."
"He came home that night announcing he was starting a commercial cleaning company."
Andrea was a homeschool mom of four with no plans to start a cleaning company. Then Pastor friends approached her asking if she'd be interested in cleaning their church — they had gone through two cleaning companies that couldn't deliver on their promises.
That week, she formed the LLC. Within three months she had worked her husband out of his full time job and brought him into the company.
This is not a random business idea. It is in her blood.
Andrea Sersen is a second-generation cleaning industry professional, woman-owned business founder, homeschool mom of four, and — by her own description — a natural storyteller who genuinely loves people.
She brings something to Heritage Cleanings that no training program can teach: determination, grit, and conviction. She started this company not in spite of what she lost, but because of it. She believes that even in life's hardest moments, there is a path forward. That redemption is possible when we lean into the ache of loss, trust Heaven with our uncertainty, and keep moving — one faithful step at a time. That belief doesn't just shape her story; it shapes how she leads her team, how she serves her clients, and how she builds legacy.
These are not marketing words. They are the criteria by which we hire, the standard we hold every shift to, and the reason clients trust us with their professional spaces. Every person on the Heritage Cleanings team knows these. Every client sees them in the work.
Showing up and doing the job the same way, every time. No good days and bad days — just the standard, held every shift.
Taking initiative and setting the standard. Not waiting to be told — anticipating what a professional space needs and delivering it.
Doing the work with pride and precision. The difference between clean and truly clean is felt the moment you walk in the door.
Noticing what others miss. The baseboards. The corners. The surface behind the equipment. That's where trust is built or lost.
Growing in skill and character every day. We are always learning, always refining — because good enough never stays good enough.
